Gang Task Forces (Southern Coast)
This is a list of local law enforcement anti-gang task forces, charged mainly with suppression and enforcement efforts. These task forces usually are housed within one law enforcement agency, but represent multi-jurisdictional collaborations.

San Luis Obispo County Gang Task Force
The SLO County Gang Task Force was formed in 1988. Under the command of a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office Commander, the Gang Task Force is staffed with one Sergeant who supervises two San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputies and one San Luis Obispo County Probation Officer. The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office prosecutes criminal cases brought forth by task force investigators. The Gang Task Force works with local agencies providing assistance in investigating gang related crimes, and also regularly provides training to law enforcement agencies, school staff, and community based organizations. The Gang Task Force gathers and shares gang related information among various law enforcement agencies within San Luis Obispo County.

Oxnard Violent Crime Task Force
The Oxnard Violent Crime Task Force operates with 16 members, made up of five Oxnard officers, four county probation officers and a representative from the Sheriff's Department, district attorney's office, Immigration and Naturalization Service, State Parole, U.S. Attorney General's office, U.S. Marshal's Office and the FBI. Each department covers personnel costs, while federal grants pay for equipment and overtime.
