City/County Commissions (Northern California)

This is a list of policy-making bodies housed within city and county agencies, usually charged with making recommendations to local governments on how to direct anti-gang efforts in their communities.  Also included are county collaboratives and specialized units or programs within mayors’ offices or county administrative offices.

Northern California Probation Consortium

Under the leadership of the Shasta County Probation Department, 15 county juvenile probation departments have joined together to form the Northern California Probation Consortium (Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mendocino, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Sutter, Trinity and Yuba).  The consortium enables smaller departments to link and share limited resources in order to support efforts to implement evidence-based practices.  The consortium will support the implementation of a new juvenile risk/needs assessment – the PACT (Positive Achievement Change Tool) – and an automated case plan – the Youth Empowered Success (YES) Plan – in collaboration with an outside provider.
