The following pages are presented in an effort to highlight local anti-gang initiatives for the purposes of interagency information sharing and regional networking.  The information is divided into three categories:

CalGRIP-Funded Projects

This is a list of local anti-gang projects funded by CalGRIP dollars.  The applicant agencies listed here were successful in highly competitive Request-For-Proposal processes.  CalGRIP allows for local jurisdictions to implement prevention, intervention or suppression activities – or a combination thereof – based on local need.  Since the inception of the CalGRIP Initiative, four rounds of grant funding have been awarded (Fiscal Years 2010-11, 2009-10, 2008-09 and 2007-08).  California cities are eligible to apply.  (Note: Community-based organizations were eligible to apply during the first two rounds of grant funding only.)  Projects are listed alphabetically.

Gang Task Forces

This is a list of local law enforcement anti-gang task forces, charged mainly with suppression and enforcement efforts.  These task forces usually are housed within one law enforcement agency, but represent multi-jurisdictional collaborations.

City/County Commissions

This is a list of policy-making bodies housed within city and county agencies, usually charged with making recommendations to local governments on how to direct anti-gang efforts in their communities.  Also included are county collaboratives and specialized units or programs within mayors’ offices or county administrative offices.

If you know of a local gang task force or city/county commission that is not listed on these pages, please contact Colleen Curtin at Colleen.Curtin@calema.ca.gov or (916) 445-8055.
