The Division of Law Enforcement and Victims Services administers several grant programs, available to local governments, as well as public and private agencies, that address gang activity, domestic violence, crime suppression, substance abuse, victim restitution and other criminal justice issues.

Community Services and Development, Department of
The Department of Community Services & Development (CSD) is a state department of the California Health and Human Services Agency. CSD administers federal programs to help low-income families achieve and maintain self-sufficiency, meet their home energy needs, and reside in housing free from the dangers of lead hazards. In addition, CSD administers a state-funded Naturalization Services Program that assists legal permanent residents to obtain citizenship. CSD works with a network of more than 100 agencies throughout California that provide services and programs directly in the community.

Corrections and Rehabilitation, Department of
Corrections Standards Authority, Corrections Planning and Programs Division
Within the Corrections Standards Authority, the Corrections Planning and Programs (CPP) Division develops, administers and evaluates programs designed to improve the effectiveness of state and local correctional systems and enhance public safety. In carrying out its responsibilities, the CPP works closely with federal, state and local government agencies, as well as the private sector and nonprofit service providers, to foster collaborative approaches for addressing crime and delinquency. The CPP provides extensive technical assistance and training to state and local agencies as well as grantees.
Education, Department of
The California Department of Education administers several grant programs and funding opportunities in the areas of school safety, after-school programs, assistance for special needs populations and substance abuse.

Employment Development Department
The Employment Development Department promotes California's economic growth by providing services to keep employers, employees, and job seekers competitive.
